The paper presents the editio princeps of the Italian translation of Pseudo Brutus' Greek Epistles, made by the humanist Niccolò Angeli from Bucine, as known as Angelio, who also translated the work into Latin (ante 1483). The edition was based on the codex unicus Firenze, Biblioteca Riccardiana, 2692. Then, the paper offers a linguistic commentary of the edition, including a quick survey of the phonomorphological aspects, as well as of the translational praxis of Angelio. Furthermore, it focuses on the syntactic and lexical choices made by Angelio against some distinctive features of Greek language (for instance, the correlative particles ??? and ??; the conjunct participles, and the accusative with the infinitive construction), in order to stress if and in which forms the Greek model has conditioned the moving of Angelio's translation away from the contemporary vernacular prose.
