Elephant remains from Gavur Lake Swamp indicate that at approximately 3500 BP the Syrian elephant (Elephas maximus asurus) populated south-eastern Turkey. Abstract

Elephant remains from Gavur Lake Swamp indicate that at approximately 3500 BP the Syrian elephant (Elephas maximus asurus) populated south-eastern Turkey.
