The difficulty in the controlled production of tailored carbon materials from coal tar and petroleum pitches arises from the scarce compositional and structural knowledge of the parent pitches as well as that of intermediates and final products derived from their thermal treatment. The object of the work is the analysis of petroleum and coal tar pitches chosen as typical mixtures of aliphatic-substituted and unsubstituted Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAH) of large molecular weight.

Abstract
The difficulty in the controlled production of tailored carbon materials from coal tar and petroleum pitches arises from the scarce compositional and structural knowledge of the parent pitches as well as that of intermediates and final products derived from their thermal treatment. The object of the work is the analysis of petroleum and coal tar pitches chosen as typical mixtures of aliphatic-substituted and unsubstituted Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAH) of large molecular weight.File in questo prodotto:
