The LIFE EESTER1 project proposal is aimed at the control of exotic invasive plant species Ailanthus altissima (Mill.) Swingle (Ailanthus or "Tree of Heaven") in order to counteract the loss of biodiversity and the alteration of ecosystems and their services in the terraced landscape of the Amalfi Coast (Sorrento peninsula, Campania - Italy), a UNESCO listed cultural landscape. The project aims to experience actions of conservation of ecosystems and cultural landscape andtest a sustainable local development model transferable and replicable in other terraced sites (national and / or European).
