Cultural heritage protection policy in Italy from 1914 to 1919 is investigated through the study of the "Carteggio di Guerra" by Corrado Ricci (1858-1934), the Director General of Antiquities and Fine Arts. It is an unpublished archives, preserved at the Classense Library of Ravenna by the will of the same scholar, which offers a compelling insight into the system of the Arts in Italy during the war period.
