This paper presents a first approach toward the automatic analysis of geometric properties in digital images of the eye. The developed procedure, called E.V.N.A. (for Eye vessel Network Analysis) is able to determine the topological skeleton of the vessel network in the examined eye image pathological events and to perform a set of measures on the detected structures. E.V.N.A. can be used by non-expert users, both in computer science and in medicine, at a low degree of interaction. In particular, the procedure can be useful to formulate more objective diagnoses, by performing at different times accurate controls about defined therapies.

Abstract
This paper presents a first approach toward the automatic analysis of geometric properties in digital images of the eye. The developed procedure, called E.V.N.A. (for Eye vessel Network Analysis) is able to determine the topological skeleton of the vessel network in the examined eye image pathological events and to perform a set of measures on the detected structures. E.V.N.A. can be used by non-expert users, both in computer science and in medicine, at a low degree of interaction. In particular, the procedure can be useful to formulate more objective diagnoses, by performing at different times accurate controls about defined therapies.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
