The aim is to propose a method for detecting and characterizing vegetation on the seabed (Posidonia oceanica) using the acoustic response from a conventional single beam echosounder mounted on the hybrid AUV/ROV robotic platform e-URoPe (e-Underwater Robotic Pet) and implementing different machine learning algorithms for the automatic detection of the presence of Posidonia on the seabed.
