A method to interpolate ordered sets of points, based upon a new spline function, is presented. It has been derived on the basis of geometrical considerations and with parametric expressions which use a properly chosen angle as a parameter. The method has several important features, eg smoothness, continuity, flexibility, local property as well as invariance under affine transformations, and the only information required are the data points to be fitted. Examples to show the graphical behaviour of the interpolation method and its ability to reproduce a vast variety of shapes.

Abstract
A method to interpolate ordered sets of points, based upon a new spline function, is presented. It has been derived on the basis of geometrical considerations and with parametric expressions which use a properly chosen angle as a parameter. The method has several important features, eg smoothness, continuity, flexibility, local property as well as invariance under affine transformations, and the only information required are the data points to be fitted. Examples to show the graphical behaviour of the interpolation method and its ability to reproduce a vast variety of shapes.File in questo prodotto:
