Many architectonic structures of a unique beauty can be still admired on the pilgrimage route of the Via Francigena. In the previous ESRARC conference, in 2017, the conservation problems on landscape and religious buildings from Altopascio to Colle Val d'Elsa were examined. In this paper, the journey continues in southern Tuscany, precisely from Colle Val d'Elsa to the spectacular landscapes of Val d'Orcia, pointing out possible emergencies for safeguarding this precious cultural heritage.
