The recordkeeping process in an accounting system usually produces digital archives. In case of a collection of structured data, a digital archive is typically maintained as a centralized database system. This solution constitutes a security and trust single-point-of-failure. We have faced this problem in the case of digitalization of "Catalogo Generale dei Beni Culturali" which responds to protection and promotion purposes of the Italian national heritage. In this work we propose a blockchain-based architecture for a digital archive for the safeguarding of the cultural heritage. The proposed solution is decentralised and efficient, both from an economic and performance viewpoint.

Abstract
The recordkeeping process in an accounting system usually produces digital archives. In case of a collection of structured data, a digital archive is typically maintained as a centralized database system. This solution constitutes a security and trust single-point-of-failure. We have faced this problem in the case of digitalization of "Catalogo Generale dei Beni Culturali" which responds to protection and promotion purposes of the Italian national heritage. In this work we propose a blockchain-based architecture for a digital archive for the safeguarding of the cultural heritage. The proposed solution is decentralised and efficient, both from an economic and performance viewpoint.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
