Monitoring and hydrogeological characterization of some qanats in the surroundings of Yazd (Central Iran)

Considering the specifi city and cultural interest of qanats, UNESCO declared them as "Common Heritage of Mankind" in 2016. These ancient underground hydraulic systems still have an important role for the territorial management in several areas of Iran and in particular in the whole Yazd province. Moreover qanats are an important touristic attraction and this arises the need to study the different problems related to their usability for visitors.

I qanat dell'Iran centrale, in considerazione della loro tipicità ed interesse culturale, sono stati dichiarati dall'UNESCO "Patrimonio dell'Umanità" nel 2016. Queste antiche opere di drenaggio e adduzione delle risorse idriche sotterranee, rivestono ancora un ruolo fondamentale nella gestione del territorio in diverse parti dell'Iran e in particolare per l'intera Provincia di Yazd. Inoltre, i qanat continuano a costituire un'importante attrazione turistica, che determina la necessità di affrontare le diverse problematiche connesse alla loro fruibilità da parte dei visitatori.
