Smart Ships represent the next generation of ships and they use ICT to connect all the devices on board to support integrated monitoring and safe management. In such cyber-physical systems, the software has the responsibility of bridging the physical components and creating smart functions. Safety is a critical concern in such kind of systems whose malfunctioning may result in damage to equipment and injury to people. In this paper, we deal with this aspect, by identifying two interconnected subsystems: shipboard power system and emergency management. The proposed architecture is developed through the H-entity multi-paradigm approach, in which heterogeneous technologies are interconnected. Abstract

We propose to extend the MOISE+ organisational model to deal with systems of H-entities.
