Focus of this work is the Eulerian-Eulerian two-phase CFD model of the discharge phase of a dumper truck bed. A dumper truck is a vehicle for transporting of material, such as gravel or sand, largely used in building sites. A typical dumper truck is equipped with an open-box bed, moved by hydraulic cylinders, allowing the material in the bed to be deposited on the delivery site. When the dumper truck works in critical conditions, the material flow is more irregular than its normal behaviour. This problem affects the dumper truck stability during its discharge phase, with possible overturning of the vehicle during the working cycle. The aim of this work is to evaluate, via a multiphase CFD analysis the pressure force distribution along the dumper truck bed, during its discharge cycle using an equivalent Bingham fluid for calibration. The expected result is to obtain the motion of the barycentre of the bed during the discharge simulation, in order to evaluate the displacement of the forces on the dumper truck shaft. This analysis can be applied on the suspension design of the dumper truck, to avoid the possible overturning of the vehicle and increasing the safety of the working process.
