In this work an ecotoxicological approach was used to assess if foaming agent conditioned soils from tunnel excavation can have detrimental effects on soil and aquatic organisms. The overall ecotoxicity of two different soils from an excavation site and conditioned with two different common foaming products (P1 and P2 containing SLES as the main component) has been evaluated. In some cases, a polymer (Pol 1 or Pol 2) was also added.

Abstract

In this work an ecotoxicological approach was used to assess if foaming agent conditioned soils from tunnel excavation can have detrimental effects on soil and aquatic organisms. The overall ecotoxicity of two different soils from an excavation site and conditioned with two different common foaming products (P1 and P2 containing SLES as the main component) has been evaluated. In some cases, a polymer (Pol 1 or Pol 2) was also added.
