Abstract

A very promising Plasma Medicine tool, called Plasma Coagulation Controller (PCC), hasbeen developed and tested for accelerating blood coagulation in vitro and in vivo. In thiscontribution we characterized plasma dynamics using a fast CCD camera coupled with anOptical Emission Spectroscopy system. Detailed analysis of the produced plasma plumerevealed the presence of localized structure known as Pulsed Atmospheric-pressure PlasmaStreams (PAPS). Further analyses have been conducted using an Infrared Camera in order toestimate the power delivered on a metallic target by the PCC plasma in different operationalscenarios. Analogously, a similar analysis has been conducted in vitro on the blood sampleswithdrawn from patients following anticoagulants therapy and in vivo on male Wistar rats.Blood smears and biopsies of muscle tissues treated for different time points (30??,1?,2?)have been analyzed by high-resolution optical microscope.
