Society and identity in fifteenth-century Cagliari testaments

The article is based on the surviving protocols of the notaries who drew up in Cagliari in the 15th century. Through this documentation, albeit small, it is possible to gather useful information to better define a complex society such as the late-medieval Cagliari one, where the Iberian element overlaps the indigenous Sardinian-Pisan element, and it is possible to glimpse the spies of a plurality of cultures and existences that begin to mix to give life to that peculiar identity that characterized the city of Cagliari

Attraverso questa, pur esigua, documentazione è possibile cogliere notizie utili per meglio definire una società complessa come quella cagliaritana tardo-medievale, dove all'elemento indigeno sardo-pisano si sovrappone l'elemento iberico, ed è possibile intravvedere le spie di una pluralità di culture e di esistenze che cominciano a mescolarsi e a fondersi per dare vita a quella peculiare identità che caratterizzò la città di Cagliari.
