The mortality of cancer patients is still high, especially for some types, such as the colorectal cancer (CRC). A large amount of scientific data is available to improve management of these diseases.Cancer treatments are not effective in all patients in the same way. This could happen because there is a phase in which the tumor acquires irreversibility characteristics that no longer allow the physiological defense system to attack and eliminate it. Furthermore, this tumor phase does not affect all patients, and when this happens, it does so with different characteristics among the patients. Therefore, we could all be able to defeat cancer if there were personalized prevention strategies able to prevent the tumor irreversibility phase. This would be feasible if we identify the mechanisms that cause this tumor passage to the irreversibility phase, the biomarkers to monitor this activity, and the target on which to intervene therapeutically to prevent this passage. To achieve this goal, research suggests us to study the damages induced by the aging processes in the regulation of the homeostasis of the redox-immune systems. These systems, in fact, are responsible for the defense of the state of health and are those mainly involved in the development of tumor pathology. In the first edition of this book, we have demonstrated the particular and interesting role in this field of thioredoxin1/CD30 redox-immune systems (Trx1/CD30). The intent of this chapter is to discuss the importance of advances of these studies in the cancer defeat.

Abstract
The intent of this chapter is to discuss the importance of advances of these studies in the cancer defeat.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
