The European Esprit HPCN Project 'HIPERTEX: High PErformance system for TEXtile evaluation', carried on by a Consortium composed by Legler SpA (Ponte S. Pietro, Italy), Parsytec/maVis GmbH (Aachen, Germany) and IEI-CNR (Pisa, Italy), aims to the study and development of a high-performance real-time automatic system able to detect and classify defects on denim and flat fabrics. In this frame, IEI has also worked to the design and realisation of a Web-site having three main goals: to issue world-wide detailed knowledge about the concepts and techniques developed in high-performance analysis of textiles, to implement a very specialistic forum inside the Consortium, to realise a centralised system accessible to textile experts for remote consultation.
