The catalan-Aragonese "Regnum Sardiniae et Corsicae" and the "Giudicato of Arborea" in the fourteenth century

To deal systematically with the study of the institutional systems in force in Sardinia in the fourteenth century, it is indispensable to start with a review of the literature and of the published documentation, in order to bridge some gaps in the historiography. Extensive research must then be undertaken at the main archives of the kingdoms of the Crown of Aragon,in both the Iberian and Italian settings. That said, this brief analysis still allows the initially critical areas to be highlighted, and some general and basic considerations to be formulated.

Per affrontare sistematicamente lo studio dei sistemi istituzionali in vigore in Sardegna nel XIV secolo, è indispensabile iniziare con una revisione della letteratura e della documentazione pubblicata, al fine di colmare alcune lacune della storiografia. È quindi necessario intraprendere ricerche approfondite presso i principali archivi dei regni della Corona d'Aragona, sia in ambito iberico che italiano. A prescindere da tale considerazione questa breve analisi consente tuttavia di cominciare ad evidenziare le aree inizialmente critiche e di formulare alcune considerazioni generali e di base.
