A legacy that has contributed in different ways to form the current cultural identity of the various Mediterranean islands with significant differences: first, between Western and Eastern area of that basin and, secondly, among the Sardinia and Sicily, more deeply imbued with this Iberian legacy, although it is declined with significant degrees of intensity and typology. While in the Eastern sector of the Mediterranean it must be considered that Catalan-Aragonese settlement was mostly limited and episodic as well as its cultural legacy.
