A volte per raccontare la scienza e la tecnologia basta guardarsi intorno e ripercorrere la storia di una città. L'articolo racconta in modo informale, anche in prima persona, una tecnologia in cui i quattro elementi naturali dell'antica filosofia greca, terra, acqua, aria e fuoco, s'incontrano e si separano lasciando all'Uomo un materiale ancora oggi insostituibile: il laterizio.
