The most recent advances in strategies for health and environmental protection are the key subjects of the XVII Italian-Hungarian Symposium on Spectrochemistry-Current approaches in Health and Environmental Protection, takes place in Turin from 14 to 18 June 2021. Attention is focused on the role played to this end by innovative analytical techniques, as in many instances analytical chemistry is closely related to the studies and needs of research in environmental, pharmaceutical and medical field. In particular, the following themes are addressed: monitoring and reduction of contaminants in environmental compartments, workplace and food current developments in medical devices; new challenges in pharmacology; use, abuse and misuse of pharmaceuticals; regulatory aspects.
