The main components ot the Pisa Lexicographic Workstation are a full text retrieval system and a lexical database system: each system incorporates procedures that have been implemented to meet the specific needs of the lexicographer. The paper describes the recent tailoring of existing modules and the development of new ones with bilingual lexicography in mind. The aim is to provide a flexible, user friendly system that can be employed in all stages of dictionary compilation, from the acquisition of citation material to the formatting of the entry for printing.
