Novel NIR-emitting organic dyes with aggregation-induced emission (AIE) properties are described. The thienopyrazine-based donor-acceptor-donor structure allows for easy tuning of the photophysical properties. The intense light absorption ability and the emission in the red/NIR region, both in solution and in the aggregate phase, make them attractive for potential use as functional organic materials in the development of luminescent devices.

Abstract

Novel NIR-emitting organic dyes with aggregation-induced emission (AIE) properties are described. The thienopyrazine-based donor-acceptor-donor structure allows for easy tuning of the photophysical properties. The intense light absorption ability and the emission in the red/NIR region, both in solution and in the aggregate phase, make them attractive for potential use as functional organic materials in the development of luminescent devices.
