We present a practical experience of science education for a musical high school based on a "creative learning" and "hands-on" approach. To engage and motivate the students we organized a project finalized to a "Photonics Concert". After a first training phase, with the presentation of scientific, technological and "inspirational" elements, the students conceived and developed 5 projects of music instruments empowered by light technologies (LEDs, mirrors, Arduinos and so on). Then, they used these instruments in a series of "Photonics Concerts", taking care of the tuning and maintenance of the instrumentation. We describe the experience and its results.
