The paper will illustrate the long life cycle of the Phoenician sanctuary of Kharayeb, from the Iron Age/persian period when the cult was practiced in structures made of perishable material to the Hellenistic phase when the main building was build with stones entracted from the quarries located located near the sanctuary. The paper illustrates also the reconstructive hypothesis of the original aspect of the main building, the rituals practiced in it (with the dedication of votive figurines and miniature pottery) and the project of a museum for the area of the ancient cult place, today known as mataaf.

The paper illustrates also the reconstructive hypothesis of the original aspect of the main building, the rituals practiced in it (with the dedication of votive figurines and miniature pottery) and the project of a museum for the area of the ancient cult place, today known as mataaf.File in questo prodotto:
