The report on DBMS standards was produced as part of the European Economic Comunities project on the "Evaluatio rl and Implementation of Database Systems". The report describes the following aspects of DBMS standardization the state of the art, those aspects of the DBMS regarding the user which could be considered as candidates for standardization, and the national and international working groups which are actually active in this sector. In conclusion, some recommendations are proposed. The Standards report has been produced by CNR and by GMD and the following members of the collaborating institutes have been involved.
