1st PERIODIC REPORT (Months 1 - 18). Achievements: - Good communication between consortium members, via weekly teleconferencing, email and 'sidebar' teleconferences discussing specific items. - Characterisation of sorbent materials - Decisions on the CaO precursors to be used in the prototype. - Selection of calciner concepts for detailed design - Final decision on calciner reactor typology - A pre-design of a solar receiver has been developed - Performance of kinetic and particle size evolution tests - All the deliverables associated with WP3 were submitted on time during the first year of the project. - Most of WP3's work is completed, but that some outstanding issues are still being addressed, alongside investigation of some other relevant avenues such as reflective and absorptive coatings. There has been much progress with the solar modelling and equipment.
