Membrane technology has led to significant innovation in processes and products over the last few decades offering new opportunities in the design, rationalization, and optimization of innovative productions. Membrane technologies respond efficiently to the CE requirement because they allow the treatment and reuse of wastewater and seawater and the recovery of valuable components present in them. Moreover, the integration of different but complementary membrane technologies could contribute to reach the goals of better water quality, lower water cost, reduce waste production, and, in the ultimate instance, provide reliable options for a sustainable growth. In the chapter, the most advanced and innovative membrane technologies for wastewater and seawater treatment are described.
