This essay takes inspiration from the publication of the volume Giordano Bruno, De immenso. Letture critiche, eds. Miguel A?ngel Granada and Dario Tessicini (Bruniana & Campanelliana, Supplementi, xliv · Studi, 19) (Pisa - Rome: Fabrizio Serra, 2020), 292 pp. An international conference was held in April 2018 in Barcelona, dedicated to a critical examination ("letture critiche") of Giordano Bruno's De immenso; the proceedings are entirely devoted to the third poem of the Latin trilogy. De immenso alternates sections in prose and verse, according to the prosimetric model that had previously been used by Martianus Capella and Boethius, by twelfth-century Platonists as well as Dante, but which in the sixteenth century no longer enjoyed much popularity in scientific and philosophical fields. De immenso is divided into eight books, each of which has been entrusted to a specialist in Brunian studies for scrutiny. In addition to these eight studies, three thematic essays are devoted to issues crucial for an understanding of this work and the entire Frankfurt trilogy. The result, as the editors announce in their Introduction, is a sort of guide or companion to this fundamental text in Bruno's oeuvre. One may also hope that it will serve as a stimulus for new translations into modern languages. Up to now, there has been no monograph entirely devoted to De immenso, even though, according to the eminent nineteenth-century Bruno scholar Felice Tocco, it is there that "we have to look for the definitive form of the Brunian doctrines."

Finally, a Monograph on Bruno's De immenso!
