We reviewed evidence showing a bidirectional crosstalk between the endocannabinoid and opioid systems in relapse mechanisms, which suggest that cannabinoid CB1 receptors may play an important role in the mechanisms underlying relapse to opioid-seeking and that CB1 receptor antagonists are possible therapeutic agents for use in the prevention of relapse to opioid abuse.

Abstract
We reviewed evidence showing a bidirectional crosstalk between the endocannabinoid and opioid systems in relapse mechanisms, which suggest that cannabinoid CB1 receptors may play an important role in the mechanisms underlying relapse to opioid-seeking and that CB1 receptor antagonists are possible therapeutic agents for use in the prevention of relapse to opioid abuse.File in questo prodotto:
