The article explores the ontological and epistemological dimensions of Bourdieu's economic anthropology as it has been built upon the distinction between a general economy of practices and economic practices. Through a reconstruction of Bourdieu's account of Kabile economy in its intertwining of symbolic and material components, a great focus is given to the philosophical reasons why Bourdieu liberalizes some economic concepts (in particular, interest and capital) to the scope of shaping a general theory of action and its social conditions of possibility, within which purely economic actions and relations can count only as particular cases.

Abstract
The article explores the ontological and epistemological dimensions of Bourdieu's economic anthropology as it has been built upon the distinction between a general economy of practices and economic practices. Through a reconstruction of Bourdieu's account of Kabile economy in its intertwining of symbolic and material components, a great focus is given to the philosophical reasons why Bourdieu liberalizes some economic concepts (in particular, interest and capital) to the scope of shaping a general theory of action and its social conditions of possibility, within which purely economic actions and relations can count only as particular cases.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
