Trotz der international anerkannten Auswirkungen des Klimawandels auf das kulturelle Erbe wird dessen Schutz in nationalen Plänen zur Katastrophenvorsorge und -bewältigung noch immer nicht ausreichend und angemessen berücksichtigt. Dieser Beitrag veranschaulicht den im Rahmen des Interreg-Projekts ProteCHt2save entwickelten grundlegenden Ansatz und die Methoden, die einem Web-GIS-Tool zur Risikokartierung und transnationalen Strategien für ein nachhaltiges Management des kulturellen Erbes zugrunde liegen, das durch Extremereignisse (Starkregen, Überschwemmungen, Dürre) gefährdet ist. Die Ergebnisse des Projekts zeigen, dass die derzeitige Priorität des kulturellen Erbes in der Risikomanagementplanung noch immer gering ist. Bei der Ermittlung der Gründe für die immer noch bestehenden Lücken in diesem Bereich wurde außerdem festgestellt, dass die mangelnde Koordinierung zwischen den und über die verschiedenen Strategien der Risikomanagementpolitik hinaus in den meisten Ländern sicherlich einen großen Einfluss hat. Zudem belegt die durchgeführte Analyse die Schlüsselrolle einer guten Vorbereitung im Katastrophenmanagementzyklus, wenn es um den Schutz des kulturellen Erbes geht.

Also, in determining the reasons for the still existing gaps in this sector, it was found that the lack of coordination between and across the different strategies of risk management policies in most countries surely has a major impact. In addition, the analysis done evidences the key role of preparedness in the disaster management cycle when dealing with cultural heritage safeguarding.
