The goal is the realization of the control software devoted to piloting a multi-axis machine. The developed prototype is an advanced 6 axis degree of freedom deposition machine. The work area is a cylinder of 300mm in diameter and a height of 500mm. The control software is a PC-based application suite and it has been developed using open LINUX RTAI OS, IGHEtherCAT master, and internally developed kernel of algorithms in charge of the interpolation of six-axes. The software is composed of: o an algorithm for the optimal motion generation of multiple axes o a look-ahead algorithm for the reduction of vibration during motion interpolation A Rhino-script processing data from Rhinoceros CAD to deliver dedicated MAD CAM has been also realized.
