The aim of this paper is to present a Public Engagement (PE) initiative within a research and development project which is a case study. We will focus on two main issues: (i) the role of resilience in the processes of social learning in the field of the Social-Ecological Systems (SESs); and (ii) the resilience perspective ('resilience thinking') as an approach to understand what to communicate and why within a PE initiative, to lead the planning of a PE action.
