In this work we investigated the effect of the addition of three different alkali metals (Li, Na and K) to a 1%Ru/Al2O3 catalyst for the hydrogenation of CO2 to CH4 with the general objective to reduce cost and boost performance of dual functional materials that can effectively operate a chemical looping process for CO2 capture from a flue gas and its subsequent methanation with renewable hydrogen.

Abstract
