The temporal patterns of seismic sequences frequently show multifractal features. This is seen in the clustering properties of 1983-1998 seismicity data from the southern Apennine Chain (Italy), one of the most seismically active regions of the Mediterranean area. The results from a multifractal analysis of the temporal distribution of seismic events suggest that the intermittent character of the sequence does not depend on the threshold magnitude.
Multifractal features in temporal patterns of seismicity in southern Apennine Chain (Italy),

Abstract
The temporal patterns of seismic sequences frequently show multifractal features. This is seen in the clustering properties of 1983-1998 seismicity data from the southern Apennine Chain (Italy), one of the most seismically active regions of the Mediterranean area. The results from a multifractal analysis of the temporal distribution of seismic events suggest that the intermittent character of the sequence does not depend on the threshold magnitude.File in questo prodotto:
