The basics of the "Signal Detection Theory" are described, as this theory can be usefully used to characterize the intrusiveness of sound producing complaints from exposed people. For this purpose, reference is made to the recent technical specification UNI/TS 11844:2022 that describes the procedures for the determination of the "Detectability Level" D'L used to quantify the intrusiveness of the sound of the specific source, considering its acoustic characteristics only, and excluding the many other aspects of different nature involved.
Vengono descritti i princìpi essenziali della "Signal Detection Theory", proficuamente utilizzabile per caratterizzare l'intrusività di immissioni sonore oggetto di lamentele da parte di persone esposte. A tale scopo si fa riferimento alla recente specifica tecnica UNI/TS 11844:2022 che descrive le procedure per la determinazione del "Detectability Level" D'L impiegato per quantificare l'intrusività dell'immissione sonora della sorgente specifica limitatamente alle caratteristiche acustiche, escludendo i molteplici altri aspetti di natura diversa.
