This study focuses on enhancing light absorption in graphene devices and the resulting responsivity of graphene photodetectors using a planar Yagi-Uda antenna configuration. Simulations and experimental data show enhanced absorption in the wavelength range between 520 nm and 450 nm targeted for this proof-of-principle. We achieved a responsivity of 0.9 mA/W at a laser output power of 9.0 mW. The antenna concept can be applied to any thin active medium.

Abstract

This study focuses on enhancing light absorption in graphene devices and the resulting responsivity of graphene photodetectors using a planar Yagi-Uda antenna configuration. Simulations and experimental data show enhanced absorption in the wavelength range between 520 nm and 450 nm targeted for this proof-of-principle. We achieved a responsivity of 0.9 mA/W at a laser output power of 9.0 mW. The antenna concept can be applied to any thin active medium.
