The purpose of the paper is to estimate the TDEM performance when employed in the Martian/Planetary environment and also to investigate on the opportunities for a TDEM system to be housed aboard of the missions planned and/or already scheduled. This way, it shall be possible to point out the major limitations arising from the operational context, evaluating their influence on the performances and thinking of some ad hoc solutions to counteract them.
