In this contribution, the totals of the pa-ki-ja-ne land register (PY Ed series) are reviewed. According to the present reconstruction, the totals were calculated based on the first version of the register (Eb and Eo series), summing up all records except the a-no-no on Eb 818 / Ep 301.1, the o-na-ta of the Eo / En series, and the o-na-to of Ep 539.7. Regarding the totals of Ed 411, it is suggested that the first total (te-re-ta) corresponded to the sum of the thirteen ko-to-na ki-ti-me-na + the te-re-ta's land recorded on Eb 149, while the second (ka-ma-e-we) corresponded to the sum of Ed 236, 317, 847 and 901. The connections suggested between these sub-totals and the Eb records seem to find confirmation in the order suggested by E. L. Bennett for the drawing up of the Ep tablets. The land terminology employed in the Ed totals and in the Eb/Ep and Eo/En records also suggests some observations about the Mycenaean land tenure system. Based on these observations, a two-level o-na-ta system managed by the local community (da-mo) is reconstructed. Finally, the hypothesis is put forward that the Ed totals were calculated by taking into account both work and tax obligations.
