Francesco da Barberino's Documenta Amoris is a bilingual (italian and latin) work of the Italian Trecento far more important than the few studies devoted to the work might suggest. A complete translation is a goal unachieved at present day. The paper aims to analyse, by philological, linguistic and hexegetical point of views, the challenges posed by the translation of the latin glossa of Documenta.
