To study the biocompatibility and the biodegradation rate in vivo of new intravitreal implants made of different hyaluronic acid ester implanted through a slerotomy at 3.5 mm from the limbus of rabbitt eyes. All plugs showed a good biocompatibility and the biodegradability was related to the chemical structure of the materials.
