This paper focuses on the historical-semantic evolution of legal terminology, considering a sample of legal terms from different historical time periods. The study intends to offer an analysis on a specific set of terms collected in two well-known Italian legal databases produced and distributed by the National Research Council of Italy (CNR): the DoGi database (Legal Doctrine) and the IS-LeGI database (Semantic Index of the Italian Legal Lexicon). Both services represent a very rich source of legal language coming from different legal stakeholders (legislators, judges, legal scholars), showing the evolution of legal terminology over time. The aim of the paper is to examine the historical evolution of legal terminology (in terms of content and structure), focusing on a sample of legal terms from different historical time periods.

Abstract
This paper focuses on the historical-semantic evolution of legal terminology, considering a sample of legal terms from different historical time periods. The study intends to offer an analysis on a specific set of terms collected in two well-known Italian legal databases produced and distributed by the National Research Council of Italy (CNR): the DoGi database (Legal Doctrine) and the IS-LeGI database (Semantic Index of the Italian Legal Lexicon). Both services represent a very rich source of legal language coming from different legal stakeholders (legislators, judges, legal scholars), showing the evolution of legal terminology over time. The aim of the paper is to examine the historical evolution of legal terminology (in terms of content and structure), focusing on a sample of legal terms from different historical time periods.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
