The ASTRA Training Unit participates in the CanSat competition, organized annually by the American Astronautical Society (AAS), which involves the construction and the launch of a small aeronautical probe the size of a soda can. The goal of the partnership is to support the Accademia cadets in materials selections, structural design, prototype manufacturing and its testing. The overall goal of the bilateral collaboration is to increase the training of the Aeronautical Academy cadets, supporting them in the study and transferring cutting edge skills and know-out in the emerging fields of materials science and technology such as: i) 3D printing of continuous fiber reinforced composites to produce structural, lightweight and economic parts; ii) Development of graphene based functional coatings for electrostatic and ice protection of drone wings; iii) Structural design of composite parts; iv) Manufacturing and testing of parts and prototypes. The creation of this important partnership has generated a new vision of Technology Transfer to produce knowledge (Triple Helix Model) and information simultaneously transforming such knowledge into an economic value propitiating financial gains between the industrial world and the institutions research and thus producing in quick time a high quality innovation.

Abstract
The creation of this important partnership has generated a new vision of Technology Transfer to produce knowledge (Triple Helix Model) and information simultaneously transforming such knowledge into an economic value propitiating financial gains between the industrial world and the institutions research and thus producing in quick time a high quality innovation.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
