Several problems have arisen in education during the COVID era, among which the need to keep students engaged and fight the sense of isolation when confined at home. In this paper we propose to face these challenges through the joint use of cooperative work and flipped learning. On the one hand, an AI-based group definition and selection is adopted so to strengthen the chances offered by teamwork. On the other hand, the flipped approach enters the teamwork phase so to guide students help each other in the preliminary phase of studying. The proposed environment is designed in such a way that every activity can be shifted from the ordinary in presence modality to a fully virtual one.

Abstract
Several problems have arisen in education during the COVID era, among which the need to keep students engaged and fight the sense of isolation when confined at home. In this paper we propose to face these challenges through the joint use of cooperative work and flipped learning. On the one hand, an AI-based group definition and selection is adopted so to strengthen the chances offered by teamwork. On the other hand, the flipped approach enters the teamwork phase so to guide students help each other in the preliminary phase of studying. The proposed environment is designed in such a way that every activity can be shifted from the ordinary in presence modality to a fully virtual one.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
