The research activities deals with methods and technologies for the indoor environmental performances control in historic built heritage. Specifically, the activities developed within METRICS project have been focused on monitoring and assessing indoor conditions in an historic building selected in the Municipality of Frigento, in Campania Region (Southern Italy), used for exhibition activities, conference and library. Taking into account the Italian technical regulations in the field of microclimatic conditions for the above activities and by analyzing the main available technologies, an indoor monitoring system connected to a web interface has been developed. The sensor system has been designed to verify the compatibility among conservation goals and comfort conditions, paying attention to the safeguard of the building usability. The results of the monitoring phase could be useful to define retrofit strategies and to support in the climate control system design in order to improve indoor performances and energy efficiency.
