Description of membrane fabrication in a more sustainable way. Nowadays, the preparation of membranes still requires the use of aprotic solvents such as N,N-Dimethylformamide (DMF), N,N-Dimethylacetamide (DMA) and Nmethyl- 2-pyrrolidone (NMP) that are considered as toxic and added to the candidate list as substances of very high concern (SVHC) that may damage human health and environment. For this reason, the actual goal is to exploit new solvents platform that have a large potential to replace the hazardous solvents for more sustainable membranes in different configurations, and this aspect is deeply described in this chapter.
