A key issue in the choice of the field workable days is the soil water content. The plowing process can be executed du- ring a specific period which depend on the type of the crop, crops rotation and climate features. In this paper we analyse the soil conditions during the period 1971-2010 for the plowing phase of most common coltures in two Italian areas de- lineated for the purpose of Agroscenari research project: Val Padana and Destra Sele, respectively in the North and in the South of the peninsula. The results show that in Val Padana area most of the field processing are executed in too humid soil condition whilst in Destra Sele the dry condition of workability are preminent with a significative increasing trend of dry days during the last fiftheen years of the analysed period.
