An analysis was carried out in Sicily concerning nature conservation and the possible actions to create an ecological network in the region. Results showed that the distribution of the natural areas is not uniform in the whole territory. It is suggested to implement and improve the connectivity among Parks, Reserves and the grid of external to Protected Ares pCIS/SCZ, as well as to increase the naturalness of many sites.
